Tia Dashon Mowry is an American actress born on July 6, 1978 in Gelnhausen, West Germany.Tia’s twin sister, Tamera Mowry is only two minutes older than her and also has two younger brothers, Tahj Mowry and Tavior Mowry.
She was born to a retired veteran and parole officer, Tim Mowry and Darlene Renée Mowry who used to be their manager when they formed their singing group in the early 1990s called “Voices”.
Tia and her twin sister developed love for acting and pageantry at a very young age and had to convince their parents to move to California with them so they can follow their dreams of becoming actresses.
The family eventually moved permanently to Los Angeles in 1990 and by 1994 “Sister, Sister” was developed for Tia and her sister after they were spotted by a producer while filming “Full House”. It was from there that their popularity began to increase.
However, they decided to attend college after the show had ended to study Psychology at Pepperdine University. Tia then travelled to Europe to study humanities and Italian.
As is the case with a lot of twins, Tia and Tamera are more or less inseparable and as such producers have also taken advantage of that by casting them together in a number of movies. Films they’ve starred in together include, Twitches, Twitches Too, Seventeen Again, Strong Medicine, etc.
